Not only did Rio fail to take a mandatory drugs test. Not only are seven players under investigation for alleged rape in London. Oh no! A Leeds player has been arrested, again for alleged rape.

So let’s forget about football; there’s a World Cup starting Friday, after all. No matter your interest in rugby, there is a wealth of good articles to be reading.

  1. Looking good

I think this is probably the most professional and well-prepared English sporting team ever, for any sport. They are the best rugby side I've ever seen us have, and (or so I am led to believe) the best post-war side we have had.

The problem is, despite our dominance this year, there are still three teams who would trip us up. The French, because they always play well in the World Cup, especially in the semis. The Australians, because they are the host nation. And the Kiwis, because they are possibly just a little bit better than us. Certainly in the backs, with players like Rokocoko, Spencer, Howlett, and so on.

It wasn't really that arrogant: we only lost by one point, the hammered the French reserves with our first team in the next match.

  2. England's chances

What do you think of England's chances then?

I'm not very uptodate with rugby but have been noticing then defeating almost every team going recently, except when the put a reserve team out against France (arrogant or what? imagine Man Utd doing that against Arsenal. Oh what they did two years ago didn't they, and got hammered 4-0).
