Those bastards at the RIAA and the MPAA, what are they playing at? Do they think I’m made of money?
Er, I mean, yay! I just bought six sides of optical media for £21. People who complain about price-fixing just aren’t shopping smart enough. To be more specific, that is:
No, I mean to rant about them. Do you know how many Trojan Box Sets there are? 40! Four-zero. I don’t have that kind of money, even if they are discounted.
Buying that’s also forced me to re-think my file naming strategy. For compilations I’ve been doing ‘as you were’ : Artist-Track Number Leading Zero-Title.ext. But with 50 tracks that just wasn’t feasible by hand, and I’m (perversley) too lazy to write a script to do it for me. So now, for compilations, soundtracks, and the like, the format is: Track Number Leading Zero-Artist-Title.ext
As for those films, well, I wanted to see My Beautiful Laundrette, but I’ve seen El Mariachi and Desperado. While they aren’t bad by any means, they weren’t top of my list. I was actually trying to hunt down the long, intertwingled, dark and darker pairing of Magnolia and Happiness .
For some reason I’ve been on top form today. I scored one of the best goals I’ve ever seen in Winning Eleven . Playing as PSG against an edited-in Southampton. Goal kick from Southampton, up to the half-way line. Chasing and harrying, I win the ball back and poke it to Ronalindho. Turn Marsden with ease and almost flick a curling shot into the top corner from 30 yards. It wasn’t unrealistic at all, which is probably why I’m so pleased with it. It looked like proper football.
